DeathSong: Unleashing Power and Performance

DeathSong Stygian world has just received a performance boost. Since it’s release, DeathSong’s demo has gotten enough public intrest for me to start working on it’s complete version and keep improving the performance of the demo which ran significantly slower on lower end devices.

In a nutshell The game has been reviewed and many useless checks have been removed. What’s more is that the final puzzle regarding rotating discs also had problems and was not allowing the player to continue, that has also been fixed. Finally the overall performance of the game has been improved. Play the game at: https://hammad-ali.itch.io/deathsong-demo

Detailed discussion regarding performance boosts The rooms are 3D meshes rendered in 2D but with 3D lighting allowing the game to avail both 3D and 2D effects. Due to some model conversion problem, the topology of the room meshes got disturbed, resulting in redundant verticies that didn’t even contribute to the model’s overall appearence. Many Meshes have been sliced in have to remove verticies that were not being rendered and some faces (i.e the ones behind the door, frame etc) have also been removed for they were also redundant.

We hope that this update effects the overall experience of the game.
